Meet Amelia
The AI hiring assistant built to move at the speed of trust.
She was a maverick. She pushed boundaries. And she inspires us to do the same.
Signature Aviation
This case study shares the story how together we turned complexity into clarity and friction into flow. As the AMS tech lead, I drove the design and operational rollout of Amelia, navigated complex vendor relationships, ensured cross-platform compliance, and made hiring smarter, faster, and more human.
Case Study
-
Signature Aviation, the world’s largest private aviation support services provider, needed a streamlined and scalable hiring process for hourly workers across 200+ U.S. locations. Their existing Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) platform was functional, but the candidate experience and recruiter workload were suboptimal for high-volume, front-line roles. Manual processes, duplicate data entry, and lack of integration between systems created significant friction for both candidates and recruiters.
Signature wanted a future-ready solution — and a better way to attract, engage, and hire talent across a distributed, always-on operation.
-
As the AMS Technology Partner, I was responsible for designing and implementing a scalable automation strategy powered by our conversational AI platform, Hourly, to simplify hiring while honoring Signature’s operational complexity.
Together, we imagined a hiring experience where:
Candidates could apply quickly and easily through mobile-optimized conversations.
Recruiters could automate screening and scheduling to reduce manual tasks.
Data could flow back into Oracle to support compliance, reporting, and onboarding.
-
We launched a fully branded conversational AI assistant, “Amelia,” a nod to Signature’s aviation roots, and scoped a phased rollout across all 200 U.S. locations. Key decisions and configurations included:
✔️ Integration and System Alignment
Leveraged custom code and Requisition API decision logic to redirect hourly job applicants to Amelia (Hourly platform), while preserving Oracle flow for corporate or out-of-scope roles. Rules were designed around requisition status (e.g., “Open-Posted”) and went into full production as of 11/01.
Secure data transfer using sFTP and HDL file format for daily exports of candidate profiles into Oracle post-interview.
Dispositioning, offers, and onboarding remained within Oracle, while Hourly handled front-end engagement.
✔️ Candidate Experience Redesign
Amelia managed automated screening, assessments, and interview scheduling — ensuring 24-hour lead times and in-person interviews.
✔️ Recruiter Workflow Enhancements
AMS Signature Recruiters managed end-to-end process across both systems: opening requisitions, managing offers, and syncing candidate data.
Enabled automated user provisioning to streamline access for over 600 hiring managers and field supervisors via a future user feed from Oracle to Hourly.
Piloted new workflows to manage walk-ins, rehires, and internal mobility across locations.
✔️ Marketing & Career Site Strategy
Collaborated with Radancy, Signature’s career site vendor, to explore hijacking the “Apply Now” button and redirecting to Hourly for a seamless application start.
Used Circa for job distribution and began planning for long-term platform ownership transition.
-
Within weeks of the workshop, our cross-functional teams aligned on a cohesive path forward. Signature, AMS, and multiple third-party vendors (Oracle, Radancy, Circa, and Modern Hire) all rallied behind a unified hiring strategy. Highlights include:
A branded, AI-powered assistant now manages high-volume candidate engagement 24/7.
Recruiters experienced reduced administrative burden, creating space for higher-value talent strategy work.
Hiring managers gained visibility and tools to more effectively schedule and interview candidates, even in field locations.
We laid the groundwork for smarter automation, faster time-to-hire, and better candidate communication — setting the stage for future enhancements like offer collection in Hourly, internal candidate routing, and full requisition feeds.
